From carbon-free electrical heating and high-strength insulation to microwave absorption in fusion reactors. We develop thermally sprayed high-tech coatings for various applications.

Electrical Insulation
Suspension-sprayed oxide ceramics — where PVD and polymers reach their limits.
High-performance insulation for printed conductors and 3D structures. Dense oxide-ceramic layers with high dielectric strength and excellent adhesion — applied to complex geometries beyond conventional methods.
Specifications
Resistance Heating
Resistive heating layers replacing fossil burners — electrified high-temperature processes above 1000 °C.
Thermally sprayed NiCr- and FeCr-based heating conductors replace metallic reactors with electrically heatable ceramic tubes. Form-fitting bonding ensures excellent heat transfer, precise process control, and CO₂-free heat generation powered by renewables.
Specifications
Microwave Absorption
Coatings for nuclear fusion — deployed in Wendelstein 7-X, ITER, and JT-60SA.
Thin, thermally stable absorption layers based on Al₂O₃/TiO₂ for high-temperature and plasma applications. Up to 90 % interference absorption at layer thicknesses below 165 µm. Used for gyrotron calibration (1 MW) and stray-radiation reduction in sensors (bolometers, ECH).
Specifications
CFRP Coating
Functional coatings on temperature-sensitive high-performance composites.
We apply ceramic and metallic coatings directly onto CFRP — without thermally damaging the polymer matrix. This opens up CFRP components to applications previously blocked by temperature and tribology limits: thermal protection, wear resistance, electrical conductivity.
Specifications
SOFC
Gas-tight electrolyte layers — extremely thin, proton-conducting, process-reliable.
Functional layer systems based on YSZ and BaZrO3 for solid-oxide fuel cells (SOFC). Our coatings are gas-tight at just ~10 µm thickness and can also be deposited on temperature-sensitive substrates such as polymers or CFRP.
Specifications
Hydrogen Electrolysis
Highly porous catalyst layers for scalable electrolysis.
Functional catalyst layers based on high-conductivity nickel materials with open porosity > 25 %. The very large active surface optimizes the electrochemical reaction in hydrogen production — a key component for scaling modern electrolyzers.
Specifications
Wear Protection
Tribological high-performance coatings for mechanically and chemically loaded components.
Dense, hard coatings against abrasion, erosion, and corrosive wear. We use HVOF and APS processes with tungsten-carbide, chromium-carbide, and oxide-ceramic systems — from service-life extension to functional replacement of expensive bulk materials.
Specifications
Semiconductor
Plasma-resistant thermal spray coatings for semiconductor etch chambers
Ceramic coatings protect showerheads, focus rings, and liners in plasma etch chambers from fluorine- and chlorine-based plasmas and ion bombardment. Dense, low-defect microstructures minimize particle emission, extending component lifetime and improving wafer yield.
Specifications
Dense oxide ceramic coatings protect sink rolls, stabilizing rolls, snouts, and pot hardware in hot-dip galvanizing lines from molten zinc. Low wettability and the absence of a reaction layer reduce zinc build-up and iron pick-up, which lowers dross formation and maintenance effort.
