We bring functional coatings from the lab into application. Reproducibly, scalably, with process certainty.
I am an engineer and offer freelance technical consulting in the field of thermal spraying. I trained at the IKMT at the University of Stuttgart (formerly IFKB), where suspension high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying was developed. First as a student and later as a research scientist, I learned thermal spraying and advanced it through my own research.
As the institute was small and technical staff were scarce, I took on nearly all tasks myself from the beginning. This allowed me to get to know the equipment in depth, identify opportunities for improvement, and optimize the systems. After several iterations, all installations performed significantly better than before.
I have deep theoretical know-how and hands-on experience in following thermal spray techniques:

R2S-tec was founded to fill the gap
between what thermal spraying can do today and what the future will require. We develop suspensions and powders, define operating windows and, where standard processes fail, coat on temperature-sensitive substrates with customized porosity, in layer thicknesses of 10 to 400 μm.
Our roots are in materials research. Our practice is in manufacturing. We connect both along the process chain.
We do not coat according to specification – we co-develop the coating system with you.
