Hydrogen Production
Open Porous Coatings for tailored Bubble Generation

Coatings with high porosity increase the active surface area of electrodes for hydrogen production. The pores serve as nucleation sites for gas bubble formation and also as transport pathways that carry the bubbles away from the electrode surface. This reduces bubble coverage and allows the electrolyte to reach the reaction zones more effectively.
APS Spray process was modified to tailor porosity and layer structure to the specific electrolysis process.
